In an effort to comply with Arizona and Federal requirements of informing residents, responsible parties and families to the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 virus cases within Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre, we will be updating this website on a regular basis. The following is a summary of the number of positive cases in Arizona and at Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre, as well as what Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre has done in response to COVID-19.

Today is 9/17/2023. In Arizona, there are 2,508,168 positive COVID-19 cases. In Pima County, there are 894 Congregate Settings (Assisted Living, Long-Term Care Facilities, Rehab Facilities, Dialysis Centers, Hospice’s, Child/Daycare, Hospitals, etc) with positive COVID-19 cases. At Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre, we have had 125 confirmed positive residents who had been transferred to our segregated COVID unit. We have had 135 employees test positive for COVID-19 and have followed the appropriate CDC quarantine and return to work protocols.

Since March 2020, Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre has put into place mitigation efforts guided by the Pima County Health Department, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Here are some of the efforts put in place: stopped all visitors coming into Sandstone Estates Rehab Centre, requiring hand washing prior to entering the facility, temperature checks and signs and symptoms questionnaire for all individuals entering the facility, regular temperature checks and vital sign monitoring of all residents. Sandstone Estates continues to update our policies and procedures, as appropriate, in response to COVID-19. The guidance offered by the CDC, ADHS and Pima County is constantly reviewed and put into action in so that we put into place best practices for our residents and staff. Additionally, we continue constant contact with the Pima County Health Department.
